You provide proactive, Christ-centered leadership in partnership with the Director of Kids Ministry to empower kids, volunteer ministry partners, and parents to fulfill our mission: “We transform lives with and through the power of Christ as we connect with God, each other, and the world.”

Job Responsibilities

General

  • Uphold the mission of King of Kings to transform lives through connection to God, connection to each other, and connection to the World.
  • Be fully committed to the Great Commission, (Matthew 28:18-20), and its implementation at King of Kings Lutheran Church. Hold fast to the mission and support King of Kings Leadership in following Jesus, the Head of the Church.
  • Be reliant on Him in prayer, be authentic in our relationship with each other, be courageous in serving Him, and be generous and love others to impact the world in ways He has uniquely called us to serve Him here at King of Kings.

Primary

  • Directly oversee ministry for 4th-5th grades for the entire calendar year.
  • Lead as primary 4th-5th teacher on Sundays.
  • Recruit and equip volunteers for Sundays and Wednesdays and for events.
  • Design and administrate Wednesday night programming.
  • Cultivate a culture of invitation and outreach through monthly easy invite events.
  • Meet with the Kids Ministry department.
  • Assist in other activities as needed.

Education

Minimum Requirement

  • High School Diploma.

Preferred Requirement

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Ministry from synodical university, with a focus in Children’s Ministry.

Qualifications

  • Must be a spiritually mature Christian, diligently committed to discipleship and to the mission, vision, and core values of King of Kings.
  • Be or become a member of King of Kings Church, fully committed to its vision, mission, strategy, and core values.
  • A passion for making disciples that make disciples.
  • Proven leadership abilities.
  • Effective communication skills with adults and children.
  • Experience in education or children’s ministry.
  • LCMS training preferred.
  • Understand the centrality of multiplying ministry partners in every ministry.
  • Display a “never met a stranger” personality in all interactions.
